Thank you for visiting my website where you can see some of my art work and my style of painting . I love to paint still life in my studio or some unusual character or subject that tends to intrigue me . I think that the artist's connection with his or her subject lends to it 's success as an appealing piece to the viewer.
My Story
I was born on the beautiful island of Cape Breton where I grew up on a farm just outside Sydney . Drawing and painting were interests of mine from a young age and though my future career was in healthcare, my love of painting did not diminish. I returned home to build my professional practice and raise my family, but I still eked out some time to work on improving my painting skills. I read books, attended workshops , watched videos, and travelled for art expos . I worked in oil for about thirty years before I fell in love with watercolours, Their luminosity and dynamic nature make them an exciting medium to explore. Now that I have retired , I am concentrating on my watercolours and have been voted in as an elected member of the Canadian Society Of Painters In Watercolour . I hope to grow as an artist as I begin this new chapter in my life 's journey and hopefully inspire others to try this beautiful medium.
